A federal indictment from the Southern District of Texas has charged 20 men in the Houston area for crimes related to alleged involvement with the Houston-based “Free Money” gang.

Multiple agencies worked together to arrest five people in connection to a sophisticated fraud scheme tied to a Romanian organized crime network operating in the United States.

Five people were arrested Wednesday in a multi-agency sting operation after a months-long investigation into a large-scale catalytic converter theft ring in the Pearland area, according to authorities.
