We have the Leaning Tower of Dallas.”An online petition even popped up to “save this landmark from destruction," noting, "if anything, do it for the memes.”Lloyd Nabors, whose company is handling the demolition, said crews will use a wrecking ball to take down the remaining tower, which included the elevator shafts. Nabors said the tower is leaning in the direction it was intended to fall, and there aren't any safety concerns.

Each side of the 11-story building on the corner of North Central Expressway and Haskell Avenue came crashing down. But the center of the building refused to come down, and stayed standing at a slight angle. "You could see the building fall down and then that tower there just kind of stopped," one witness told CNN affiliate KTVT. A spokesperson for the demolition company, Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition, said the remaining structure poses no threat to surrounding buildings or pedestrians.
