VIDEO: Police officer saves man in wheelchair on camera
(NBC NEWS) โ A Los Angeles Police officer is being hailed a hero after saving a man in a wheelchair from a burning vehicle. The rescue was caught on body camera Friday. Two officers were on routine patrol in the San Fernando Valley foothills when they spotted a disabled vehicle engulfed in smoke. You can see officers help both the passenger and the disabled man out of the car just moments before it catches on fire. The fire destroyed the manโs wheelchair, but it was replaced by an officerโs donation.
Maroon 5 Bassist Mickey Madden Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence
Mickey Madden, the 41-year-old bassist for Maroon 5, was arrested over the weekend in Los Angeles following a domestic violence allegation. The LAPD confirms to ET that the charge against Madden is California penal code 273.5(a), felony domestic violence charge, which involves willful infliction of a traumatic injury on a spouse or cohabitant. Madden's next scheduled court date is for Sept. 29 at the Los Angeles Superior Court. "We are deeply devastated by this disappointing news," a rep for Maroon 5 tells ET. Kendrick Sampson is speaking out after being hit by rubber bullets fired by LAPD. The Insecure star was protesting George Floyd's death in Los Angeles on Saturday when the police fired rubber bullets at him and other demonstrators. Sampson's rep tells ET he was beaten multiple times with batons and shot seven times with rubber bullets by LAPD while peacefully demonstrating. I actually got hit 7 times with rubber bullets and many with batons. "Yall didnt see police attacking white folks, beating 'em up with batons, shooting them with rubber bullets when they brought guns to f**king state houses.
