Afghan officer rescued from Kabul starts new life in U.S.
The dramatic rescue in Afghanistan happened under the cover of darkness. The Taliban were closing in, and Americans were running out of time to save Mohammad Khalid Wardak. The high-profile Afghan national police officer spent years working alongside the U.S. military, and after the fall of Kabul, he went on the run, moving from safe house to safe house, at one point running barefoot to avoid capture.

Killer Mike to earn Change Maker Award at Billboard Awards

Atlanta-born Killer Mike first made waves in music with his appearance on Outkast's 2000 album, โStankonia." But Killer Mike has made noise outside of music, too. Last year he hosted Netflix's โTrigger Warning with Killer Mike," a 2019 documentary series about issues affected the Black community. The Billboard Change Maker Award will be presented by Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms at the African American Panoramic Experience Museum in Atlanta.

NEW YORK โ Post Malone is the sunflower of the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. The multi-platinum 25-year-old star scored 16 nominations, dick clark productions and NBC announced Tuesday. Maloneโs nominations include top artist, top male artist, top rap artist and top streaming songs artist. Lil Nas X follows Malone with 13 nominations, while Billie Eilish and Khalid each scored 12 nods. Four of the five songs nominated for top gospel song are from West.

Chance the Rapper to Take the Rodeo Stage March 6
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo welcomes Chance the Rapper on Friday, March 6. The singer, actor and hip hop artist is another of a rather eclectic lineup on non-country artists this year that includes Khalid, Marshmello, Gwen Stefani and Lizzo among others. In December, the artist canceled his entire 2020 tour including a January date at the Toyota Center, citing the desire to spend more time with his family after the birth of his second daughter. As a result, this may be your only opportunity to catch him in Houston for a while. Tickets for Chance the Rapper will go on sale Thursday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. on the Houston Rodeo website.
