Officials with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office confirms a 20-year-old man, who was the driver of the commercial truck which struck and killed a Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy over the weekend, has been arrested and charged in connection to her death.

A Montgomery County deputy was killed while directing traffic on I-45 after investigators say a truck struck her.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Erika Serrato, 24, was killed early Sunday when she was struck by a commercial truck while directing traffic at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on I-45 North near The Woodlands.
