Mayor Whitmire has appointed Dr. Kevin Schulz as the Houston Fire Department’s new EMS Physician Director, succeeding Dr. David Persse. Schulz, who has over 25 years of EMS experience and has served Houston for more than a decade, will oversee medical protocols, quality improvement, and patient care for one of the nation’s busiest EMS systems. He has led medical responses to major city events and holds leadership roles in both local and national EMS organizations. Schulz is recognized for his expertise, leadership, and dedication to advancing emergency medical care in Houston.
