The seven-time State Champions, FBCA Softball is entering the second half of the Spring season with one mission in mind. Bring back the title. After the 2022 season, which saw the Eagles finish as a TAPPS-II State Finalist (fell to Legacy Christian), second-year coach Kelli Jacoby’s group has returned to the diamond with the ambition to go back to Arlington. Only this time they don’t intend to leave empty-handed.

Concordia Lutheran was a determined group, this Winter, on both the pitch and the hardwood. With the season finally wrapped up, it was time for TAPPS to dole out the private school props throughout the state of Texas, and as expected, several key figures of ‘Sader Nation Winter Athletics were credited with the season recognition they deserve.
Booker T. Washington HS shines bright on the basketball court
“It’s nothing we aren’t used to,” HISD athletic director Andre Walker said. “We have done this many times before in HISD, but it’s just been different teams. Now it’s Booker T. Washington’s turn. The district really feeds off what basketball is doing right now, and I hope to be making this drive to State in a few months with soccer.”

THE LIST: Cy Woods sits atop VYPE’s Public School Rankings
We are already halfway through the UIL Spring season. Time sure does fly. Cy Woods has had a tremendous tournament season and a quick start in district play. The Wildcats have a strong pitching staff and a balanced batting lineup. Class 6A Region III will be a battle between the likes of Pearland, Ridge Point, Tompkins, and a surprising Cinco Ranch as it stands now. Class 6A Region II is loaded with Cy Woods, Grand Oak, and The Woodlands, among others.
HEATING UP: LSA gaining momentum amid district play
It would appear that LSA Baseball is delivering on its promise to “get back on top” in the race for TAPPS supremacy on the diamond. The Pioneers have started off the Spring season like they were shot out of a cannon, winning nine out of their first ten games, which included an especially sweet series sweep over heated rival, Second Baptist, to begin district play.
