HOUSTON – Texans starting running back Woody Marks aggravated an ankle injury Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals and didn’t finish the game.
Marks limped off and went to the blue medical tent, remaining on the sideline while practice squad running back Jawhar Jordan rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries in his NFL debut during a 40-20 victory that represents the defending AFC South champions’ sixth win in a row.

Marks, who has dealt with several nagging injuries in recent weeks, including a knee injury suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs, didn’t suffer a long-term injury. In fact, he could have gone back in to continue playing, per coach DeMeco Ryans.
Plus, Jordan and Dare Ogunbowale were playing well as the Texans finished with 143 rushing yards on 33 carries. That included a 50-yard run from Jordan. Marks finished with 30 yards on seven carries. Plus, he alertly recovered an aborted snap for a touchdown.
“Woody could have come back in the game,” Ryans said. “He got his ankle tweaked a little bit there early in the game. For where he was, felt like Jawhar and Dare were doing a good job, so wanted to keep rolling with those guys and make sure Woody is good as we continue to go into the week.”
Texans All-Pro corner Derek Stingley Jr. was listed as having an oblique injury, but played 85 percent of the defensive snaps. He had the same injury earlier this season. Stingley seemed fine after the game and in no visible discomfort.
Previously, he had the oblique injury and missed some time in practice and didn’t miss games. He had three tackles, one for a loss against the Cardinals.
Texans defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr. injured his chest. He played 33 percent of the defensive snaps and recorded two tackles.
Pro Bowl defensive end Will Anderson Jr. got poked in the eye Sunday and received treatment after the game.
