HOUSTON – The Texans signed veteran safety Jalen Mills to bolster a shorthanded position group, agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey told KPRC 2.
Currently, the Texans are thin at safety. That’s because starter C.J. Gardner-Johnson is out with a knee injury for an undetermined amount of time while expected to return this season. Plus, safety Jimmie Ward is on the physically unable to perform list due to undergoing offseason foot surgery. He also is dealing with a third-degree felony domestic violence accusation in Montgomer County. And rookie safety Jaylen Reed has an ankle injury and is expected to miss roughly three weeks, per league sources.
