HOUSTON – This one is bittersweet! πŸ₯Ή

On Thursday, University of Houston guard Jamal Shead announced exclusively on KPRC 2 that he will be entering the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft.

”I feel like it’s my time to move on. It’s time to go and chase my dreams,” Shead said. ”It was a big decision, my family and coach talked it over and right now I feel like it’s just that time.”

Shead and Houstonβ€˜s national championship hopes ended during March Madness after the Big 12 Player of the Year injured his right ankle in the team’s Sweet 16 matchup with Duke.

Even after he and the Houston Cougars season was over, the awards still rolled in. Shead was named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
