KPRC 2 & UTMB Health Athlete of the Week: Matt Scott, Klein Oak Baseball

HOUSTON – Klein Oak baseball star Matt Scott is the KPRC 2 and UTMB Health Athlete of the week for March 14.

Scott is a four-year varsity standout and will play college baseball at the University of Texas. He is coming off a 1st Team All-District selection in 2023 and hopes to bring the Panthers a playoff run in 2024.

“Matt is a great person off the field, as well as on the field,” head coach Bo Hernandez said. “He’s one of our core guys. As he goes, we go.”

Scott grew up loving baseball, and he hopes to make an impact in college ball and eventually Major League Baseball.

“I just love the game,” Scott said. “It’s a game of failure. You can’t ever get too high or get too low. It’s just a fun game to play.”
