HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets will put their 17-game winning streak on the line Friday night across the Northern Border when they play at the Eastern Conference-leading Toronto Raptors.
A win would not only extend the Rockets' NBA-best winning streak this season, but would also clinch a playoff berth for the team.

With the team sitting atop the Western Conference standings, clinching a playoff berth is pretty low on the list of accomplishments, but nonetheless it’s a step towards the ultimate goal.
The Rockets could also clinch that playoff spot Friday night even without a win.
If any one of the following happens, the Rockets would clinch a playoff berth:
- Utah Jazz loss at Memphis Grizzlies
- Denver Nuggets loss to Los Angeles Lakers
- Portland Trailblazers loss to Golden State Warriors
- Los Angeles Clippers loss to Cleveland Cavaliers
The 17-game winning streak is the franchise's longest since their 22-game winning streak the team had during the 2007-08 season.
The Raptors are one of just three teams the Rockets have not beaten this season. Houston, playing without Chris Paul, lost to Toronto on Nov. 14, 129-113.
The Pistons and Wizards are the other two teams that the Rockets have not beaten this season.
