HOUSTON – The Houston Astros tendered contracts to all but one of their unsigned players on the 40-man roster.

Houston did not tender pitcher Mike Fiers.

Friday night was the deadline to tender players on the roster.

Fiers becomes a free agent and is free to sign with any team.

The Astros have eight arbitration-eligible players on the roster.

Catcher Evan Gattis, pitcher Ken Giles, pitcher Dallas Keuchel, outfielder Jake Marisnick, pitcher Mance McCullers Jr., pitcher Collin McHugh, pitcher Brad Peacock and outfielder George Sprigner are all eligible for arbitration.

With the removal of Fiers, Houston now has 38 players on the 40-man roster.
