Texas A&M Board of Regents meet about filling head football coach job

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M University system Board of Regents is meeting Thursday to discuss filling the head football coaching job.

The board quickly gaveled into a closed, executive session of the meeting, which is permitted by state law. 

No decision is expected by the board, officials said.

The meeting comes after the ousting of former coach Kevin Sumlin.

KPRC 2 sports director Randy McIlvoy reported that sources with knowledge of the search for Sumlin’s replacement believe current Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher will take the job.
