WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – There is nothing like a Texans training camp when No. 99 is hustling onto the field, laughing and clearly having a good time playing football again.
"It felt great. It's real football and it has been a long time coming," Watt said.
His journey to get to this form again is well-documented.
Now he's seeing results.

"Today (Wednesday) was a great day. I had a lot of fun popping the pads a little bit, playing some real football. It's just another step. Every single day in. Training camp is a step and you need to stack all the blocks on top of each other and that's what I am trying to do," Watt said.
After three days off from camp workouts, a stretch that included the Texans' scheduled day off on Monday, Watt was back in his element on Wednesday at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
After practice, he was asked if he has to pace himself in these camp practices.

“I think they do a good job of doing that for me, because they know what would happen if I tried to pace myself, but I think what I have done a better job of is listening to them," Watt said. "I think they’ve put a really good plan in place, they know exactly how they want to progress us toward the season because I think the biggest thing that I’ve learned from early in my career is I’m not going to go out there and win a game on a Tuesday in the middle of training camp. We’ve got to win games on Sundays in September, October, November, December. So, the biggest thing for me is getting ready for that first game of the season and they have a good plan in place, so I’m just following the plan.”
Watt and the Texans open the preseason at Carolina next Wednesday.
