Woman's body found near Missouri City retention pond; boyfriend found dead 1 day later

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – A woman was found dead Monday near a retention pond in a Missouri City neighborhood and her boyfriend was found dead a day later, police said.

Rachel Delarosa's body was found at about 8:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Creekmont Drive.

According to Missouri City police, officers arrived and found the body of a woman in her early 20s. She was later identified as Delarosa, 29.

Delarosa's boyfriend was found dead around 24 hours later in north Houston.

He's been identified as Robert Cerda.

Surveillance video from the A-Madco Food Store in Spring Branch shows Delarosa and Cerda in the store around 7 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said the pair, who had been unseperable for the past three weeks, stopped in the store after spending a few hours eating and talking at Connie's Seafood House, a restaurant next door.

Less than 90 minutes after the video was taken, Delarosa was found shot to death in the 4200 block of North Creekmont Drive in Missouri City.

Roughly 24 hours later, Cerda’s body was discovered in the 7000 block of Bleker in North Houston.

He’d also been shot to death.

“We need the public's help because these two kids that are apparently in love with each other just minding their own business having a great night, then all of the sudden they just wound up dead and we don’t know the reason why,” said Detective Andrew Robb with Missouri City police.

Police aren’t sure if they were killed by the same person, but believe more than one person was involved in their murders.

The pair loved their families. Cerda was extremely close with his mother. He always told her where he was going and what he was doing, but after 8:15 Monday night, police say she never heard from him again.

“Our goal is to bring closure to both families, especially with the holiday season,” Robb said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Missouri City Police Department at 281-403-8700.
