Woman raped after being followed home from gym, police say

PASADENA, Texas – Pasadena police are looking for the driver of a green Ford Mustang, who they said followed a woman home from a local gym and sexually assaulted her.

The woman left the Fitness Connection in Pasadena just after midnight Tuesday, police said.

Surveillance video showed the Mustang parking at the gym at 11:18 p.m. Monday. He waited there until the woman left and then followed her.

When the woman walked up to her front door, the man approached her at gunpoint and forced her back into her own car, police said. Police said the man forced the woman to drive her to a nearby neighborhood, where the attack happened.

Police described the man as Hispanic, clean-shaven, standing about 5 feet, 2 inches to 5 feet, 4 inches tall and has a thin build.

After the attack, police said, he ran back to his own car and took off.

"It made my chest stop," said Cathy Reyes, who works out at Fitness Connection in Pasadena.

"We've started not to come at night," said gym member Ashley Jimenez, who added that someone broke into her car recently while it was parked at the gym.

"I've had several cars broken into in this parking lot," Matt Hammond said.

The Mustang "had what appeared to be dark-colored primer on the front left fender," a Pasadena police news release said.
