Fundraiser set for December to benefit Deputy Justin Gay

HOUSTON – A fundraiser has been organized for Harris County Pct. 4 Deputy Constable Justin Gay, who was shot seven times earlier this week while attempting to make an arrest.

Gay remains in intensive care at Hermann Hospital Downtown. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The shooting took place Sunday as Gay responded to a domestic disturbance call. Gay was struck in his legs.

The fundraiser will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Enchanted Cypress Ballroom.

Gay has a wife and two children, and the shooting is expected to have a financial impact on the family, officials said in a news release.

Constable Mark Herman and his team are organizing the fundraiser.

Anyone who would like to mail a donation is asked to make all checks or money orders out to Deputy Justin Gay, and send the contribution to 18482 Kuyendaul Road, No. 191, Spring, Texas, 77379.
