HOUSTON - Businesses and restaurants are serving up freebies to those who served their country this Veterans Day.

There are all kinds of deals for active personnel and veterans.

If you're hungry, Golden Corral is rolling out a free buffet dinner and free beverages. At Olive Garden, active military and veterans can choose a free entree off a special Veterans Day menu. Red Robin is offering a free tavern double burger, served with bottomless fries.

If you're in the mood for pizza, you can pick up a free pie at California Kitchen. Applebee's is also showing its gratitude with free entrees for active personnel and veterans.

Need something to put a little pep in your step? Starbucks is brewing up a free tall coffee for veterans and their spouses.

Veterans who need a little off the top can get a free haircut at Great Clips. And if your car or truck needs a bath, Bubbles Car Wash is giving free washes.

If you need to get around Houston to a parade or another event, METRO is offering free rides to all veterans and active military personnel.

Of course, most of these great deals come with a catch: you'll need to show proof of military service. And if you have any questions about a particular deal, call ahead!
