Greenwood, a 30-year law enforcement veteran, was killed Monday while arriving at work at the Baytown County Courthouse.

The benefit will last all day Monday.

Papa John’s detailed Greenwood’s background in a news release. Greenwood started his career at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office before launching his own law office in 1989, where he focused on representing police officers in criminal matters. In 2009, he joined the Harris County District Attorney’s office as the police integrity division chief before joining the Harris Country Sheriff’s Office in 2013.

While at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Greenwood served as the Commander of the Office of Inspector General, the Internal Affairs Division, and General Investigations Division. Greenwood also worked as an instructor to new recruits for the Houston Police Department from 2009 to 2012.

Papa John’s donation is intended to honor Greenwood and his service.
