News 2 Know for Nov. 1, 2018

It's the first day of November, and that means the start of No-Shave November, also known as Movember. It's a month-long observance when men let their facial hair grow out to raise awareness for cancer and other health issues.

Counting today, there are only two more days of early voting left. To help, we've put together a map that will hopefully help you find a polling place where you won't have to wait in line very long. Also, we've got guides on how to use the eSlate voting machine and everything else you need to know about early voting. If you miss early voting, you can go to your designated polling place on Nov. 6.

Man held in Galveston County Jail tied to case of missing College Station girl, officials say

Kenny Hewett, of Houston, is being held in the Galveston County Jail on charges related to tampering or fabricating evidence with intent to impair a human corpse. Investigators say he's connected to the missing persons case of Hazana Anderson, 2, in College Station.

Waller County deputy, Loren Vasquez, 23, was killed in the line of duty while responding to a high water call late Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Woman in dog head costume steals money, cigarettes, leads deputies on chase, officials say

Colleen Dickens was arrested Thursday after leading deputies on a chase after reportedly stealing cigarettes and money from a gas station in south Houston while wearing a dog head costume and a pair of wings.
