HOUSTON - A man was found dead Thursday in the driveway of a home near Acres Homes in northwest Houston.

Authorities said the 61-year-old man was walking his dog in the 5600 block of Hardwood Forest Drive around 8:30 p.m. when two to three men approached him and shot him in the face.

The men took the victim's car keys from his pocket and left the scene in his vehicle, authorities said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the victim's vehicle has since been located.

Deputies used a K-9 officer to help search for the men responsible for the shooting.

No arrests have been made, deputies said.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story said this incident was a carjacking. That information has since changed after authorities spoke to witnesses. The initial call came in as a carjacking, but authorities are now investigating this incident as a murder.
