Man robs NW Harris County phone store at gunpoint

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County authorities are asking for the public's help identifying a man who is accused of robbing a phone store at gunpoint earlier this year.

Authorities said the armed man entered the Cricket Wireless store in the 6800 block of North Fry Road on Aug. 25 around 10:15 a.m.

He asked the store employee about phones and plans and then left, authorities said.

He then returned to the store and pulled a chrome pistol from his waistband and pointed it at the employee, according to officials.

He demanded money from the register and also took phones that were on the counter, officials said.

The man then left the scene on a bicycle.

Authorities described the man as black, about 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 150 to 160 pounds. He has a thin build and a short Afro hairstyle.
