16-year-old shot multiple times, killed near jogging trail at Missouri City park

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – Police are investigating after a teen was found shot to death Tuesday near a jogging trail at a park in Missouri City.

Officials said a jogger was running along a trail at Buffalo Run Park near Fairway Pines Drive around 7 a.m. and spotted the body of 16-year-old Estuai Quinonez.

Quinonez was shot multiple times, police said. He was found on the path between Texas Parkway and Fondren near Thurgood Marshall High School.

Officials were able to identify the teen by a bottle of medicine he had on him.

HPD has had a dive team at the scene throughout the day searching nearby bodies of water along the trail to look for weapons. At last check, they haven't found anything.

Police do not believe there are any surveillance cameras near the crime scene.

Quinonez's family said he was a student at Madison High School in 2014.
