For more than two months, the relaunching of 2 Helps You has been working to help viewers across the Houston area get answers and resolve problems they say have gone ignored.
Investigator Mario Diaz has seen several success stories along the way.
One involved Isabel Tristan, who waited nearly three years to get her $75 back for a brick memorial in Brookshire. After 2 Helps You got involved, Tristan received her money back.
He also helped two communities with road issues in northwest Houston. In one neighborhood, residents got speed bumps. In another, a massive pothole was repaired.
In League City, we helped a homeowner get a bee hive removed with the help of Bee’n Green.
Meanwhile in Southeast Houston, several residents asked 2 Helps You to help address what they described as a “Texas jungle” of overgrown vegetation that was encroaching on their properties. We pushed Union Pacific for answers and within days the rail giant addressed the problem.
We even secured new seats for FIFA World Cup 2026 fans who saw StubHub suddenly cancel their dream experience.
This is a sampling of some of the problems we’ve helped resolve.
But four cases that 2 Helps You exposed remain unresolved. Here’s where they stand.
Illegal dumping site off Antoine Drive in Harris County
The first involves an illegal dumping site on North Antoine Drive in Harris County.
The site is still there.
The area falls under Harris County Precinct 1, which is led by Commissioner Rodney Ellis.
We’ve reached out to the commissioner’s office multiple times seeking answers and action.
So far, no resolution has taken place and the eyesore remains.
Abandoned home in Fort Bend County
The second case involves an abandoned home in Fort Bend County.
After our first report, the county cut the grass and vegetation in the front yard.
But nothing more.
Adan Alvarado, who was featured in our original report, says the overgrown vegetation in the back continues to cause problems, including damage to his fence.
Alvarado says he has been unable to get his fence replaced because the vegetation has caused it to come down.
Asked how the situation makes him feel, Alvarado, “It seems like that they forgot this side of town.”
After speaking with Alvarado, 2 Helps You again contacted Fort Bend County Health.
We left a message seeking an update on the situation.
So far, the person leading the department has yet to return our call.
Gravesite marker in Northeast Houston still waiting to be installed
Another case involves Patrina Marshall and a gravesite marker for her mother.
Marshall tells 2 Helps You that Headstone World has repaired the marker and her family has seen the work done.
All that is left according to Marshall is getting the new marker installed at the gravesite, which is slated for next week at Golden Gate Cemetery.
We’ll continue following up to see when that happens.
Galveston Sidewalk Repairs on 61st Street
And finally, in Galveston, 2 Helps You helped get a portion in the 2800 block of 61st Street near the seawall repaired for elderly residents who lived in the area.
But two other trouble spots remain, preventing those in scooters or using walkers from having an uninterrupted passage.
We’re still waiting for those areas next to an apartment complex to be addressed.
