BRYAN, Texas – A teen boy is dead after a shooting erupted in a Bryan neighborhood, according to the Bryan Police Department.
Police identified the deceased as 14-year-old D’Antwon Miles.

Investigators said the gunfire broke out in the 1200 block of W. 17th Street when two groups began shooting at each other. Four people were hit, police said, including Miles, who later died at St. Joseph Hospital.
Police said a 14-year-old girl was treated and released the hospital, and a 42-year-old woman remains at St. Joseph in stable condition. A 17-year-old boy was treated and released from Baylor Scott & White Hospital.
Authorities said the shooting also caused damage beyond the victims. Two vehicles in the 1200 block of W. 17th Street and another vehicle in the 900 block of Harlem Lane were struck by bullets during the exchange.
Police have not released a motive and said detectives are still working to identify those involved.
“A 14-year old lost his life and several others were injured as a result of this senseless act of violence. The Bryan Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of D’Antwon Miles during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are also with those who were injured, their families, and everyone affected by this tragedy,” said Bryan Police Chief Dean Swartzlander.
The investigation remains active.
