Houston police are investigating after a body was recovered from Brays Bayou in southeast Houston Wednesday morning.
According to the Houston Fire Department and Houston Police Department, crews were called around 7:05 a.m. to the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard after someone reported seeing a body floating in the water.

Emergency responders recovered the body and pronounced the person dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the person’s identity or said how long the body had been in the bayou. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
The discovery comes just days after homicide investigators responded to the same general area.
On Monday, officers were called to the 7200 block of J.W. Peavy Drive after a person was found unconscious near Brays Bayou. That victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division launched an investigation.
At this time, investigators have not said whether Wednesday’s body recovery is connected to Monday’s homicide investigation.
