A pilot suffered minor injuries after a small plane crashed into a home near the Covey Trails Airstrip on Tuesday, according to authorities.
The Fulshear Simonton Fire Department said firefighters from Fulshear Simonton Fire Department, Community Volunteer Fire Department, and the Fort Bend County Hazardous Materials Team responded to the crash.
Multiple law enforcement agencies also responded, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office.
Officials said the pilot was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating what caused the plane to crash. Officials have not released information about whether anyone inside the home was injured.
According to information shared at the scene, the pilot is familiar with the airstrip and typically flies there every day, usually during the evening. Officials have not confirmed whether that played any role in the crash.
Crews are now working to remove the aircraft from the home as the investigation continues.
