HOUSTON – A Houston-area nonprofit is inviting people around globe to hop on the courts and help a cause: stop childhood bullying.
Block the Bully is the nonprofit hosting the inaugural World Volleyball Day on July 7, founded by Houston native Steven Lockhardt.

Lockhardt said that like many other children, he faced bullying throughout his entire childhood. He said that volleyball was the main outlet that got him through it.
“Volleyball changed my life,” Lockhardt said. “It gave me confidence when I needed it most. It gave me friendships and a place where I felt accepted. World Volleyball Day is about helping create that same feeling for others.”
BTB says they are mirroring the event Race for the Cure, in hopes that World Volleyball Day will become the call to action to its cause.
The organization invites anyone to participate with simple instructions: play volleyball anywhere.
The idea is to create a worldwide volleyball tradition to promote confidence, inclusion and kindness while dismantling bullying.
