Families can pick up one homegrown watermelon per household while supplies last. It’s a simple tradition with a big goal — helping neighbors stay hydrated and get through the hottest stretch of the season.

Organizers say it’s also a chance to meet Constable Mark Herman and his deputies and enjoy a community moment that’s become a summertime favorite. They noted no county funds will be used to make the giveaway happen.
