Thousands of FIFA fans expected at World Cup Fan Walks, causing street closures near NRG Stadium

HOUSTON – If you’re planning to visit downtown Houston on Saturday morning, be prepared for traffic delays as several streets will be closed for two World Cup Fan Walks.

The fan walks will affect traffic near Houston Stadium (NRG Stadium) and south of the Texas Medical Center from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The following streets are expected to be heavily impacted as thousands of Team Canada and Team Morocco fans gather ahead of the Round of 16 match at Houston Stadium:

  • Fannin Street, between Old Spanish Trail and Houston Stadium
  • Greenbriar Drive, between Old Spanish Trail and Fannin Street
  • Northbound Fannin Street, from the Interstate 610 South Loop south frontage road to Houston Stadium

Drivers traveling through the area are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
