Baytown man calls third party, confesses to killing wife before fatally shooting himself, police say

BAYTOWN, Texas – An investigation is underway after a couple was killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Baytown on Friday afternoon, according to the Baytown Police Department.

The incident was reported around 2 p.m. after a third party received a call from a man who stated he had just killed his wife and was contemplating suicide.

Officers arrived at the home in the 200 block of Southwood Circle and found a woman, believed to be about 30 years old, near the front door of the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately attempted lifesaving measures; however, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man, believed to be about 50 years old, was found inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers also provided lifesaving measures; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the couple was involved in a romantic relationship.

No other individuals were involved in the incident, and no additional injuries were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing.
