HOUSTON – You only have a few days left to hit the polls because early voting for the primary runoff election ends this Friday, May 22.
In Harris County, you can go to any one of the 48 different voting centers.
Remember, if you voted in the Democratic or Republican primary in March, you have to vote in that same primary in the runoff election.
The Harris County Clerk, Teneshia Hudspeth, says this is another very important election you do not want to miss.
“We have everything from the top of the ticket here in the state of Texas to the very bottom, some races have the senate race on there, attorney general race, and as you get down further in the ballot, you have your congressional members, Congressional 18 has been a long, long race, there’s also your district clerk who handles jury duty, ” says Hudspeth.
And Hudspeth adds, do not be discouraged by voter fatigue.
Harris County has held eight elections in the last eight months, which means there’s been an election every month since last October.
In May, there have been three alone.
“This has been a marathon, and voters are confused, they’re tired, they are wondering what we are voting for now? So stay the course because this is really the last opportunity to make your voice heard to determine who’s going to be on the ballot in November,” says Hudspeth.
And know before you go! Print out a sample ballot to take with you: What’s on my Ballot?
Make sure to bring your identification and know your voting location.
