HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home Saturday night in southeast Harris County, where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Deputies responded to the 600 block of Harding Street around 7:30 p.m. last night.
Investigators said the victims were a 25-year-old man and his 24-year-old wife. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his hand, while the woman was struck in the upper torso. Both were taken to a hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead on arrival, authorities said.
According to deputies, the man and his brother were seated at a table in the kitchen disassembling and assembling firearms. Investigators said the 25-year-old’s firearm discharged, striking his hand and then his wife.
Officials said seven adults and three children were inside the home at the time, and no other injuries were reported.
Authorities said possible charges are pending review by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office or a grand jury.
The case remains under investigation by the HCSO Homicide Unit.
