Carnival Legend crew rescues man, cat after spotting sailboat in distress while cruising to Mexico

The crew of Carnival Legend rescued a boater in distress while en route to Cozumel in Mexico Tuesday night.

According to Carnival officials, the ship was traveling the Gulf heading to Cozumel when they spotted emergency flares.

Grizzy’s Hood News posted an alleged image from the scene along with further information she uncovered related to the situation.

They then spotted a sailboat in distress and launched a rescue boat to pick up the man and his cat, Dahlia, which were aboard the sailboat.

The man and cat were brought safely aboard Carnival Legend and the sailor is being cared for by the medical team aboard the ship.

It is unclear where exactly the rescue took place in the Gulf, but Carnival’s schedule indicates Legend set sail from Galveston on Sunday.
