HPD: Driver killed in crash after speeding over train tracks in East Harris County
Vehicle flips after driver loses control near railroad crossing
HOUSTON – Houston Police believe a man may have been speeding over train tracks before he was killed in a crash in east Harris County.
It happened along a stretch of Maxine Street that crosses railroad tracks near Tite Street at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday.
A patrol sergeant at the scene said early evidence suggests the driver may have been speeding over the train tracks.
Officers believe he then lost control, hit a ditch, the vehicle flipped and he was ejected.
Police said the victim may have been in his teens.
