HOUSTON – Nakia Holmes, co-owner of Turkey Leg Hut, has been cleared after a Harris County grand jury declined to move forward with charges against her, according to an official statement released Friday.

On April 10, 2026, a grand jury returned a no-bill after reviewing the evidence in the case, meaning jurors found insufficient grounds to proceed.

“This outcome confirms what I have maintained from the beginning,” Holmes said in a statement. “I complied, provided the requested documentation, and trusted that a full and fair review would lead to the truth.”

The case was presented to the grand jury the same day. After evaluating the evidence, the panel determined there was not enough basis to pursue charges.

Holmes said she is grateful for the outcome but indicated the situation raises concerns. She added that she is evaluating possible legal action.

“I’m thankful for those who stood by me,” she said. “My focus now is on my family, my businesses, and continuing to build.”

Holmes was previously arrested in connection with allegations that she helped an accused kidnapper who was wanted by authorities, according to earlier reporting. Authorities at the time alleged she assisted the suspect following the reported kidnapping.

No charges will be filed against Holmes following the grand jury’s decision.
