Deputy constable with Harris County Pct. 5 hurt in crash after driver runs red light
A Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Deputy has been hospitalized after a crash Friday morning in southwest Houston.
According to reports, around 3:30 a.m. in the 7100 block of Bissonett Street, a white van ran a red light, hitting the deputy.
The deputy, along with the driver and passanger in the white van, were all transported to the hospital. The deputy is expected to be okay. The condition of the driver and passanger in the other vehicle is unknown.
The intersection where the crash took place was shut down for multiple hours while deputies investigated.
It’s not clear if the driver of the white van will face charges.
