Man arrested, charged after 50-year-old girlfriend found fatally shot in NE Houston apartment

HOUSTON – A man has been arrested, several days after his girlfriend was found shot to death at an apartment in northeast Houston.

Eric Goosby, 48, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force around 2 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Hussion Street.

Goosby is charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name. Goosby is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Authorities responded around 1:50 p.m. Monday to an apartment located at 2831 Laura Koppe Road.

Houston Fire Department personnel arrived at the apartment and found the woman after getting a person down call. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police learned neighbors heard gunshots around 9 p.m. the night before and saw a man leaving the apartment alone. Neighbors believed the man was the victim’s boyfriend.

After further investigation, police identified Goosby as a suspect in the case.
