Man arrested after Dickinson birthday party shooting injures 7

DICKINSON, Texas – A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that broke out during a late-night birthday celebration in Dickinson over the weekend, police say.

The Dickinson Police Department said 58-year-old Patrick Frederick was taken into custody on April 1 in connection with the March 29 shooting. Frederick is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (bond set at $750,000) and the unlawful carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon (bond set at $250,000). Police said the investigation remains active.

Authorities previously said gunfire erupted around midnight during an adult birthday party near JT’s Lounge along Avenue F. Investigators said an argument and assault began inside the venue and then spilled outside, where multiple people started shooting.

Dickinson police said that as of March 31, investigators had identified seven victims. All victims were listed as stable or had already been released from the hospital.

No deaths have been reported.

Police have not released additional details about what led up to the dispute or whether more arrests are expected.
