Suspect detained after snatching woman’s phone, firing gun as she chased him

Houston police are investigating an incident where a man allegedly snatched a cellphone from a woman and fired a gun at her as she chased him.

It happened in the 13600 block of North Freeway near Rankin Road.

According to authorities, the victim pursued the suspect, who reportedly fired several shots in her direction. Fortunately, no one was struck by the gunfire.

Houston Police Department officers responded to the scene and successfully detained the suspect without further incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with additional information to come forward.
