HOUSTON – Two men have been arrested after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant Friday morning inside a northwest Harris County neighborhood, according to Pct. 4 constable deputies.

The crash was reported near Archgate and Waynegate drives.

Witnesses reported the vehicle struck the hydrant, causing water to gush into the roadway. There were also reports of possible gunshots heard prior to the crash.

Deputies said the driver was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. The passenger was also arrested after officials learned he had an open warrant out of Harris County for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
