According to HPD Lt. Larry Crowson, a witness reported that the victim was shot by an occupant if a black “smaller vehicle.” It’s unclear whether or not the shooting was a drive-by.

KPRC 2’s Bryce Newberry was at the scene, where the victim’s siblings spoke to the media. They identified him as Terribia Dembry.

Dembry’s sisters and other family members arrived at the apartment after learning their loved one had been murdered.

“From what we know, somebody pulled up, five shots, and that was it,” Tesa Dembry, one of the victim’s sisters said.

Loved ones said they believed Terribia — whose nickname was Ribi — was visiting a woman who lived at the complex when he was shot. He leaves behind a large family, including children and grandchildren.

Authorities have not provided descriptions of any suspects or persons of interest at this time, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear. They do not know how many people were in the vehicle of interest.

The family members are asking anyone who saw something to come forward, as they seek justice for Ribi.

“My heart aches,” Trazara Barres, the victim’s other sister, said through tears.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact HPD or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-8477 (TIPS).
