HPD says units are on scene and investigating (SKY2)

Houston police responded Tuesday morning to a report of a suspicious person at Dobie High School.

Officers were called to the campus around 8 a.m. Tuesday at the school on Blackhawk Boulevard. Police say units are currently on scene and there is no threat at this time.

Pasadena ISD said Dobie High School was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution after a report of a possible firearm, adding that all students and staff are safe.

As a precaution, law enforcement is conducting classroom sweeps before the campus is fully cleared.

“Dobie High School has been placed on lockdown today out of an abundance of caution after a report that a student saw an individual with a possible firearm on campus.

Law enforcement and campus administration responded immediately, and an investigation is currently ongoing.

All students and staff are safe.

The lockdown was implemented to ensure the safety of everyone on campus while the situation is thoroughly assessed. Students are being supervised by staff, and safety protocols are being followed.

Please know that the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

At this time, parents should not come to campus, as this may interfere with emergency operations. We ask for your patience and cooperation while the investigation continues."

KPRC 2 has a crew in the area to gather more information.
