Court documents: Suspect arrested after shooting man 9 times in Downtown Houston

Police say victim is in critical condition

HOUSTON – A man has been arrested for shooting another man in Downtown Houston on Saturday afternoon, court records say.

According to the Houston Police Department Major Assaults Division, the shooting stemmed from an argument between two men at 909 Texas Avenue.

During the argument, the suspect, identified by authorities as 21-year-old Nicholas Youngblood, pulled out a gun and shot the victim approximately nine times.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to police. Youngblood was arrested a few blocks away from the scene.

Court records show that Youngblood is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He has a court date scheduled for Feb. 16.
