GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas – A man has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a child in Galveston County, according to authorities.
Shane Cleveland, 55, of Houston, was arrested by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation that began on Dec. 2, 2025. The sheriff’s office said a victim came forward and reported being sexually assaulted multiple times in 2021.
The sheriff’s office said Cleveland gave a “full confession” to GCSO Sgt. M. Stephenson.
Cleveland was arrested on Feb. 12 and booked into the Galveston County Jail. He is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. His bond is set at $250,000.
Detectives worked with the Galveston County Child Advocacy Center and Galveston County Multidisciplinary Team in the months-long investigation.
