Suspect charged for allegedly beating man to death in east Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man has been charged with murder for allegedly beating a man to death in east Harris County on Wednesday evening, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified Florentino Ipina, 30, as the suspect.

He is accused of killing Oscar Garcia, 44, near Freeport and Renault Streets after deputies found the victim unresponsive at the scene.

Responders attempted to save Garcia but he was pronounced deceased on location. Authorities said Ipina later returned to the scene where deputies were still investigating.

He was detained.

Ipina was booked into the Harris County Jail.
