VIDEO: Fight breaks out between coaches on same team at Aldine ISD school

The altercation between the Aldine ISD coaches is under investigation

HOUSTON – A melee at a middle school basketball game Thursday night at Hambrick Middle School is under investigation by Aldine Independent School District administration.

Two separate sources tell 2 Investigates the trouble originally started between Hambrick’s boy’s basketball coach, a male, and Hambrick’s cheerleading coach, a female.

“So the basketball coach was telling the cheerleading coach, hey, I need your gals out of the way?" reporter, Joel Eisenbaum, asked.

"Yeah, but he like, he like said it mean, like he was, he had called her a b-word and stuff," Jamariah Cash, a cheerleader who witnessed the fight, said.

From that point several witnesses describe a fan and or fans in the stands, attacking the basketball coach.

It all happens right in front a gym full of middle schoolers, although none of them were reportedly involved in fighting, Aldine ISD said.

The employment statuses of the coaches involved in the fight were not available from Aldine ISD.

Aldine ISD’s spokesperson, Ashley Brown, said the following:

"Aldine ISD is aware of a video circulating on social media showing an altercation involving several adults at Hambrick Middle School on Thursday night. The situation did not involve any Aldine ISD students. The incident is under investigation, and the Aldine Police Department is working to gather all relevant information. At this time we are unable to provide additional details. The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our top priority."
