Suspect on the loose after shooting at officers in Richmond

Residents urged to stay inside and lock doors during active search

RICHMOND, Texas – Police are searching for the person they believe fired shots at them Friday morning while responding to a call in Fort Bend County.

Richmond Police responded to a shots fired call in the 1900 block of Fiesta Lane around 1 a.m.

When officers arrived, they said they arrested one person, but while making the arrest, a second suspect started shooting at them.

A search is underway for the second suspect, and police are working to determine if the person they have detained is connected to the initial shooting or if the person who was shooting at them the suspect in both shootings.

Police are urging residents in the area to stay inside, lock their doors and report anything suspicious.
