Chambers County authorities ask for public’s help in animal cruelty investigation after dog fatally shot

CHAMBERS COUNTY, Texas – The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in an investigation into the fatal shooting of a family dog.

The shooting happened on Monday in the 1500 block of Cotton Lane, in the Plantation neighborhood.

A 6-year-old yellow Labrador named Ace was found dead in the family’s backyard with an apparent gunshot wound. It is believed the shooting happened around 5 p.m. and a nearby resident reported hearing a gunshot around that time.
